ParticipantI have a PAT test qualified electrician doing PAT testing and putting stickers on.
Is that adequate?
I think a customer is bluffing me, and can’t find anything to counter that.
He claims electricians need a license to repair a washing machine and sell it on to a recon shop etc.Cheers

Thanks
I called the Environmental Agency to be sure I was legal. I asked what license I might need, if one existed. They told me none existed, but that probably meant I would need a bespoke license – small fee – £5000.
Your advice seems much clearer, and fits that of the engineer we are looking to recruit.
The environmental agency helpline is a joke. They google the answers while I’m on the phone.
We will need the new F-Gas Cert, but that comes at a smaller fee of £600 and apparently isn’t needed until next April.
Thanks.

This is confusing us.
If we want to repair fridges (degas and regas) do we need any licenses?

ParticipantYeah, you need a Waste carriers license at least to do this regularly.
