Re: Bosch Exxcel 1100 WF02264GB/01 drum not rotating

    OK…

So the way to get to the motor is from underneath tipping the machine at 45 deg, right? Am I going to have probs if I lay the machine completely on it’s side given the drum suspension system?

If I take the motor off (held on by 4 bolts it seems) what’s the best approach to removing and then replacing the drum belt? Just try to ease it off and on whilst rotating the drum (a bit like a tyre on a car wheel?) with the motor still attached? Or unbolt the motor releasing belt tension, and bolt it back later whist the belt is already in position?

I can’t quite see it properly at the moment, but what’s the process of replacing the brushes given they’re in brush holders? Are the brush holders removable (and need removing) withought dissasembling the motor? Or should the brushes just come out from the sides/end of the holders (presumambly retained in the holders by a clip or such like)?

Would be good to know what I’m trying to achieve, rather than just experimenting and getting into a pickle. Not done this job before, but I’m an engineer at heart, and know about electrical stuff 🙂

Reading he forums here, I suspect this may be brushes on the main motor.

Are ‘compatible’ brushes to be avoided? They’re LOT less expensive (£4 vs £34!!)

There’s also an option for genuine brushes in plastic carriers. Should this be necessary either, or should the replacement brushes go into the old holders ok?

That link seems to be broken. Site down or a typo?

Re: Bosch SGS43E02 control panel loose

The torx screws seem tight yes.

    – Do you happen to know if the panel is only available complete with all the electronics (expensive) or just the plastic part that I’ll presumably find broken?

    – The question about the the screws is that they appear to secure the metal cover over the whole of the inside of the door, whereas the control panel is just at the top of the door (on the outside of course). I guess removing the the whole panel on the inside is the correct (an only) way in to get at the panel?

Thanks. Needs of course to be a Corgi/equivalent bod to do gas. 🙂

Very clever! If Yellow Pages were THAT good people wouldn’t use THIS site to find white good engineers, would they!?! 😉

Re: Bosch WTV74307GB dryer filter warning

Yup. It’s just that most cycles get interrupted by the requirement to clear a very little fluff from the filter.

Maybe a symptom of the exhaust being just a little too restricted? There are a couple of bends and the hose is crushed to a *slight* oval shape at one point

Oooooo. I now have a working machine again. I feel like “Dr Dishwasher”, though of course it’s only down to the help here from you.

    Many thanks 🙂

One question to save me unscrewing more that I must… To get the left side panel off… Top have to come off too? How is the top released?

Water level is I think ok. I have noticed that when it’s filling from the main water supply it tends to do so with a number of short ‘goes’ of a few seconds each.

I’m not convinced the arms are going round when it’s washing – but they do seem clean/clear. Is a pump failure likely (though it does seem to drain ok)?

Ah ha. In the light of day, and with a torch, I found the offending item which was fortunately still sticking through into the drum. Part if a bra, indeed, I think…

    Thanks all.
