Thank you kwatt – you got me thinking – pressure sensor.
There is the round sensor with a clear tube running to it – a level sensor? 3 contacts with only 2 of them used. It appears in my initial fiddling trying to find the fault, I had fiddled with the level sensor, and it appears I had put the 2 connectors back on the wrong contacts. The wrong contacts were normally closed and so the machine would be endlessly looking for the sensor to go open circuit. I moved one connector to the other contact (presumably normally open) and now the machine appears to work correctly. It successfully did a 5 minute pre wash – filled, washed and pumped out. It is now on our 2 hr normal wash.
Mea culpa.
Moral of the story – we all have smartphones now. Use them and take plenty of photos before you start fiddling!
Lesson learned.
