Re: Zanussi ZRT143W will not run

An update. I found details for the compressor and start run device.

I think the overload device (BDG 3/4inch AF25FY6) is tripping after 5-10 seconds.

I’ve examined the PTC device and it doesn’t seem to be broken in any way – I have read these can have chips off them.

If I’ve got the right compressor datasheet the main winding should be 26ohm and the start winding 34.4ohm. The resistances for the three combinations of terminals are 27ohm, 24ohm and 17ohm. The 27ohm is the one across the PTC and I assume should be measuring across both motor coils and so ought to be the total of the other two which it is not. Hence I presume some short between the windings.

So is it fair to assume the overload and PTC are fine and it looks like there is something wrong with the motor windings and hence fridge is scrap ie not economically repairable?

Thank you for both replies. Put off by Chinese I’ve managed to find the Liebherr CU2311. It’s 63 deep but may be okay if that includes a protruding handle.

So, naive I know but I assume Liebherr are German and reasonable?
