    Re: Siemen XLM1600 Not Rinsing

You would not believe this, but after posting this, I decided to clean the pump filter just in case it was gunged up.

I could not undo the pumpfilter cover which is unusual as it normally unscrews easily.

Used a pair of pliers to turn the filter cap and snapped off the plastic handle!

B***er it, put a screwdriver through the plastic cover and felt alot of resistence and saw a blue “rag” inside the filter. I assumed it was my daughter’s hair band. Prised it out and finally pulled it out with the pliers. Turned out to be the wife’s knickers.

Do’t ask, I am just as puzzled!!!!!

Fixed the hole of the damaged filter with fibreglass temporarily while I ordered a new part.

Replaced and machine running a treat now!

    Wife going commando in future!!

    Happy Xmas everyone

Re: given up on samsung rs21

    Hi

I have a similar problem despite changing, the cover, defrost heater, sensors. Mine is just under 5 years old.

The fridge is fine, only the blooming freezer. Once defrosted, it will work perfectly for 2 weeks and then it plays up again. I was told maybe the temperature of -20C is too low, will try at -15C and see what happens once it has been defrosted. If not will have to get another one but what make. I am in a quandry like yourself.

Finally got the freezer working. Found out the back of the freezer was frozen solid with ice.
Defrost the freezer overnight and its now working again

Re: Samsung RS21 Freezer Not Freezing

    Hi RE

All that I have chnaged is the defrost heater, the evaporator cover and the two sensors, i.e the yellow one at the top with the black head and the sensor at the bottom right hand side. These two sensors came with the defrost heater when I bought it.

I really am at my wits end as everthing is new. All I can think off could it be the compressor is gone. How can I tell if this is the case?

The freezer temperature is now 1 degree C. It keeps reverting back to this despite my setting it to -20C.

    Help anyone!!!!!

    Regards

Eureka! Did as instructed and removed the old heater from the fins and slowly replaced it the new one.

Works OK so far. Waited 24 hours and did the twin button test and now no fault errors have appeared.

Thanks once again to all for your help.

    Re: Samsung RS21 Problems

    Hi johnsdad and helo_75

I finally got the defrost heater this morning.

Took everthing apart and attempted to fit the defrost heater.

Problem arrived when I tried to disconnect the two copper pipes. They were covered in black mastic and appears to be “soldered” on.

How do I disconnect these pipes? Once these are disconnected, it would appear putting the new part in would be a doodle.

I can email you guys the pictures if you email me your email address.
    Mine is yhng45@hotmail.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Hi Johnsdad

That is exactly where the fault code appears which I presume confirms what you guys have been saying, the defrost heater is KAPUT.

Will order a new one on Tueday.

    Thanks again.
