Hello again,
We were defrosting the fridge every other week manually for almost three months while Bosch engineers were trying to fix it (6 visits altogether). They finally gave up and returned all the money (no fix, no fee).
Now, the heater element in the defrost unit and the main panel have been replaced. It took them this long to obtain the parts/diagnose, total fail, Bosch (MKS). Unfortunately, both engineers visiting had refused to change the PTC sensor as you here advised. They blamed a wiring issue and written the appliance off once the costs of the repair passed a certain point.
I therefore would like to buy it and attempt to change it myself if you consider it worthwhile. Additional point of note: sometimes the temperature indicator for the fridge compartment on the main panel cycles through all possible settings as if the button is pressed every second. The only way to stop it is to switch the fridge off and back on. Can this indicate/pinpoint a fridge compartment PTC sensor fault?

How would I know which sensor is faulty? If I’ll change settings from a lower temp to higher on each of the compartments in turn and see if fridge stops? Simply removing and inspecting one and the other? Checking temperatures? Fridge seems on most of the time, but maybe it’s due to it being full and the hot weather. Any fool proof method to diagnose?

The drum tunrs straight and no issues with an excessive noise overall. No vibration when draining. Steady loud “clank” every 360` drum turn by motor. (no noise if done by hand, but quite/very hard at least 1/3rd of the way, then eases). No foreign objects in as far as I can tell. Drum wobbles/moves around freely/as it was, only turning is affected. £200-ish is an acceptable price to repair it due to machine’s price. How can I make sure this is indeed a bearing? Upload an audio?
