    Update this morning is that the freezer is now down to -20 fridge +5. Compressor working again this morning but still appears to be no sign of the fan coming on.

    Can I ask why you feel compressor is on the way out? If the fan was coming on would this not correct temp problem with compressor?

    Also when you say ‘it’ll end badly’ what did you meant?

    Thanks for responding so quickly.

    The temperature has been coming down all night with the freezer now at -15 and fridge at +10. Compressor is however very hot (too hot to keep hand on) and there appears to be no sign of the fan next to it coming on.

    What is this fan for – is it not to cool the lower area of the unit including the compressor?
