Re: Britannia oven door hinge receivers

On my 90cm large door, the receivers are held in place by one screw just below the hinge opening. After removing that screw the receiver can be accessed from the plate warming area below the oven. Get ready to catch it and you will see which way round to install the new one. It’s simple enough, no need to dismantle any more of the oven.

Re: Britannia oven door closing by itself

I guess it’s possible I have the wrong hinge so to clear that up, I have a Britannia 90cm e-line and yes, we’re talking about the large oven. Unfortunately the model label has degraded too much to see the numbers, but I bought it in 2000.
The parts are from ukwhitegoods, A02841 (hinge) and A46804 (runner).

I know that Britannia have been selling 100cm cookers for a while now so maybe my part is for one of those. It looks identical to the parts I replaced, but the tension might well be different.

I find that if I hang a pair of oven gloves on the handle the extra weight is enough to keep the door open.

Thanks all for your comments so far.
