Qingdao-based Haier Group has turned its washing machines into a market leader from a technical pursuer in a short period of 10 years, becoming a sign of progress for the world’s washing machine technology. As the first world famous brand name in China’s washing machine sector, the machines have witnessed a joy-sorrow and stirring journey of the country’s household appliance industry. It has also withstood strong impact from transnational enterprises, reports the overseas edition of People’s Daily on November 29.
Depending on its strong research and development strength, China’s Haier Group Corporation has been ranked third in the global washing machine sales according to the latest survey by Europe-based Euromonitor International, a leading independent provider of strategic market research.
In India, the official voltage in use is 220 volts, but in fact, the voltage in use for residents ranges between 220 and 260 volts. Haier Group has made a series of localization experiments for developing washing machines catering to the Indian voltage range. The double-voltage washing machines produced by Haier Group have turned to be high-end ones with the highest sales growth rate on the Indian market since being put on sales for less than a year. A model of wind-drying washing machines, specially designed for Japanese market with maritime climate, has also enjoyed a popular share in the Japanese market, receiving 290,000-set orders from Japanese firms.
