Not to be outdone by arch rival Samsung, LG is launching it’s ThinQ AI platform for service and preventative maintenance in Europe.
This is said ot be an upgrade to “AI” appliances, analyses products, and prevents failures.
LG has said that it will upgrade to ThinQ AI as the number of AI home appliance products and customers using them in Europe is increasing.
It has been upgraded to a platform that has provided convenience functions such as remote home appliance control and IoT (Internet of Things) appliance connection through LG ThinQ in Europe.
The ThinQ AI platform has only been available in Korea, and the United States But LG says it will be expanded to Asia and Latin America, and soon to Europe.
ThinQ AI offers two core services: ThinQ UP, which continuously upgrades new AI functions to existing home appliances, and ThinQ Care, which simplifies the management of product conditions like failure and abnormal symptoms. This, says LG, ensures customers can continue to enjoy improved performance after purchasing home appliances.
For example, a customer who has a pet can add a pet care function to the washing machine and dryer to remove allergy-causing substances with an SW upgrade. Customers who often wear thin clothes in summer can adjust the drying degree from the existing 5th to 13th through an upgrade to dry according to the fabric.
The “ThinkQ Care” service monitors energy usage and analyses AI’s failure or abnormalities in real time, and informs customers.
Ryu Jae-chul, head of LG Electronics’ HS business division, said, “We will continue to upgrade and manage the products so that customers can use them without any inconvenience even after purchasing them, and provide an ever-evolving AI home appliance experience.”
