Maytag stock takes a dive, just as Union & Maytag executives due to start talks on the 23 June 2004.
The news announced today 18 June was not received well by stockholders taking the stock lower. Maytag are still the owners of Hoover in the USA. Hoover have been struggling for some time.
Some would say a liabilty for Maytag. The news of efforts to remove Hoover’s Royal Warrant in the UK will also hurt. What pundit’s are calling the “Hoover Effect”. Or has a date been set for the showing in the USA of the BBC documentary on the Hoover Flight Fiasco? Maytag has done their best to distance themselves, it does seem to Haunt them.
