Those who like to know what the weather might be like outside or do not have any recipe books to hand may be interested in a new fridge-freezer from LG.
The Side-By-Side LSC27990, which places a refrigerator next to a freezer with doors that open out, also includes a nifty device on the front – a television.
And while the 15-inch LCD screen is also equipped with FM radio facilities, the freezer door also features a colour LCD display screen on which users can access recipes, weather information and the temperature inside the appliance.
In addition, it doubles up as a digital photo album and calendar with an anniversary alarm, so no birthday should ever go forgotten.
The appliance, which is expected to cost around $4,000 (£2,018) when it is released later this year, also features an alarm which sounds if the door is left open for too long.
