Whirlpool offers 5.25% over 5 years

Whirlpool Corp. has offered workers a raise of 80 cents an hour, or 5.25 percent, over the next five years, plus payments equaling $1,200 during that time, as the company and the union this week continued to negotiate a labor contract.

Welsh Assembly launches fridge fund

The Welsh Assembly Government has launched a £1.75m scheme for environmentally-sound fridge disposal. The funding will help local authorities to meet European Commission requirements for CFC and coolant waste management.
