Aga Rangemaster have achieved Gold status under the Future Net Zero (FNZ) Standard after cutting its carbon footprint by more than 50% in four years, which is impresive.

It would appear that Middleby has won the race to buy British oven maker Aga Rangemaster after rival bidder Whirlpool decided not to proceed with its bid.

The UK Takeover Panel late Wednesday said that Whirlpool has until 1700 BST on Monday, September 14 to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for AGA Rangemaster Group or announce that it does not intend to make an offer.

Aga Rangemaster is at the centre of a bidding war after revealing US appliance giant Whirlpool was considering a bid to rival Middleby’s £129m offer.

British cooker manufacturer and one of the few left, Aga Rangemaster, is to be sold to US firm Middleby in a deal valued at £129m.

Shares in Aga Rangemaster have rocketed up 30% after the company said it was in talks about a potential takeover.

AGA Rangemaster has launched a cooker with built in M2M capability that can be monitored and controlled remotely which the company says allows you to control the cooker from anywhere.

British upmarket cooker and refrigerator maker Aga Rangemaster Group said it continued to expect 2010 revenues ahead of 2009, driven by new products. The company said trading in the four months ended April 30 was in line with expectations.
