In the latest twist over the Hotpoint, Indesit and Creda tumble dryer saga it would now appear that some owners may well be able to get their money back if they have an affected tumble dryer which was bought on a credit or debit card.

Remember the tumble dryer fire in Shepherd’s Bush the other week? Well, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) are now putting pressure on Whirlpool to recall all the dryers and saying they should not be used.

Just when we thought that the whole smart appliance bandwagon was on it’s way out of town after IFA Whirlpool go and drop a bombshell on us with this new delight of theirs.

Tumble dryers are back in the news after a fire took place in Shepard’s Bush, London which took place in an eighteen storey block of flats.

Whirlpool just can’t seem to catch a break just now, first it was the tumble dryers now it’s microwaves in the USA that are being flagged up as potentially dangerous.

It has been reported that Whirlpool has filed forty lawsuits to protect a fridge water filter in the USA but it could well happen here too given the sums involved.

Whirlpool said on Friday said it would raise prices of its appliances in Britain and Russia to counter deteriorating currencies that are hurting the company’s profits.

Oh dear, LG, Samsung and Daewoo have been rapped yet again by regulators in the US for dumping washing machines into the US market at artificially low prices, lower than they cost to make so it is said.
