WELLINGTON (Dow Jones)–Fisher & Paykel Appliances Ltd. (FPA.NZ), a New Zealand home appliance manufacturer, said Wednesday it has a deal to distribute products of fellow appliance maker Whirlpool Corp. (WHR).
Under the deal with Whirlpool (Australia), Fisher & Paykel has exclusive rights to sell and distribute the Whirlpool brand in New Zealand through its existing network of retailers, the two companies said in a statement.
In August last year, Fisher & Paykel and Whirlpool announced a global alliance to focus on marketing and development of home appliances.
Whirlpool already distributes some Fisher & Paykel products in Europe and the U.K.
“Whirlpool” is a highly respected global brand and their products offer features and benefits that differ from those designed and built by us,” John Bongard, Managing Director, Fisher & Paykel, said in a statement.
