Appearance
Spots of colour on sensitive/dark garments after washing in a washing machine. The spots can vary in colour (e.g. brown, blue, red) depending on the original shade of the garment.
This is not a problem that is caused by a fault in your washing machine and a service visit will not be able to solve the issue, it is likely to result in a “no fault found” call that you may be charged for even whilst your washing machine is in warranty or on a service cover plan.

Cause
The washing machine is overloaded, leaving insufficient space for the powder to dissolve properly causing bleaching on the garment by the detergent.
Prevention
Avoid overloading the machine to ensure partially dissolved powder does not get trapped against the surface of a sensitive coloured garment.
Cause
Dosing device placed in the machine in such a way that it was covered by clothes and the powder can’t disperse correctly.
Prevention
Place the dosing ball upright on top of the wash load towards the back of the machine to prevent undissolved powder being left on the garments.
Cause
The garment has come into contact with hypocholrite bleach (e.g toilet or sink cleaning bleach) before the wash.
Prevention
Always make sure clothing is not placed on damp bleached work surfaces prior to wash.
