Twin tub washing machines and stand-alone spin dryers are making a comeback according to Carl Thompson, financial director of Thompsons Discount Electrical.
“Thompsons has been importing its own brand twin tub washers and spin dryers with great success.
“With the dwindling profit margins and competition from the supermarkets on electrical products, we decided during our visits to the Far East not to import the same products as everyone else – kettles, vacuums, TVs.
“We decided to find a niche market where everyone could make a profit for once,” he explained.
