On Monday 16 October 2006 the Dunstable based retailer “The Electric Shop” who operated primarily from it’s website, www.electricshop.com, was placed into administration.
David Crawshaw and Myles Halley, both licensed insolvency practitioners and partners of KPMG LLP, were appointed as administrators over The Electric Shop (UK) Limited.
The bad news for customers of the store though as it looks as if, fromteh information available on the website that:
“Unfortunately the Company is not in a position to fulfil any outstanding orders. The vast majority of goods ordered by customers have not yet been received from manufacturers and given the administration of the Company will not be received from the manufacturers.”
It is also apparent that if the company has been paid for goods by customers that the only recourse is to claim as an unsecured creditor, in which case you would be unlikely to be repaid and almost certainly not repaid in full. Or to claim your credit card company if you paid for the goods using this method.
The situation with any warranties that were sold is, presently, unclear.
