Word is reaching us that Whirlpool and Fisher & Paykel’s romance is over, in fact the story goes that the romance is dead and buried with any hope for reconciliation long gone. It has to be stressed that, at this time, there is no official comment from either through the usual press channels and so there is no official confirmation at this time of the story.
There are various reasons for this being mooted including poor service levels as well as poor marketing on the part of Whirlpool for both.
Spare parts supplies have been, shall we say, “patchy”, with partners being charged for spares not recieved with figures seemingly attributed by some partners as “plucked out the air”. Both Whirlpool spares in Croydon and ASD (a Whirlpool spares distributer) are being blamed for the fiascos by the service partners.
In so far as we know this is only to affect the UK and not the global deal that Whirlpool and F&P have, although I would think it would make for some rather strained meetings.
Of course, as stated, this may all be nothing more than rumour and a storm in a teacup. However, UK Whitegoods will assist in any way we can.
