Whirlpool Europe, a member of the global producer of whitegoods kitchen equipment, is considering whether to invest up to zł.500 million in the country or, like Hyundai, opt for a site in Slovakia.
Either way, the company plans to build a stove factory with a yearly capacity of up to 1 million units, create a technological progress center and develop new products. The two locations currently being contemplated are Poprad in Slovakia and Wroclaw, where Whirlpool took over the domestic producer Polar and has thus far invested over EUR 30 million to develop the production of refrigerators and dishwashers there.
The final decision is expected to be made within the next weeks. (Puls Biznesu, p. 8) M.K.
