This one slipped under our radar and, it seems everyone else’s as well but Haier have launched a washing machine that costs over £1000 here in the UK. Which is mad to many of us.
Haier, whilst climbing to the top of the tree in terms of volume etc and no being the global number one selling appliance brand has always been seen in the UK as, well, a bit not so great given it’s Chinese and largely seemed to always target the budget end of the market.
It seems that is no longer the case.
This new X Series, as Haier call it, has a washing machine and a heat pump dryer in it as well as a dishwasher, and none of them are cheap, but they do have some intriguing stats and stuff.
The absolute standout though is that they come with a 10 year warranty. Yes, ten years and not a Mickey Mouse only this bit or that bit, or parts only… no, this is so far as we can see a full on, full ten year warranty.
In terms of features it’d be easier to list what wasn’t there as opposed to what is, it has pretty much every feature you could wish for including a connected app, the hOn app as they call it. Thi app also is used by the dryer and dishwasher.
But we’d like to know more that we can learn from the general info available online. Such as, can this be integrated into smart home systems and so forth as we talked about here.
How good is the build etc, honestly we don’t know or if the machines live up to the hype from Haier and we will try to learn more. To that end we have reached out to Haier’s marketing team but at the time of writing we’d not heard back from them.
It does look however, as if the days of Haier being a bit of a joke are done with, this is serious stuff and swimming in the same rarified waters as highly respected brands like Miele and Asko and to beat them in their territory, it has to be good.
