KeymasterI’m sure you all have some as this is, well simple, but perhaps not so easily understood. 😕
It’s easy for us, we’ve lived and breathed this project for a year or more, we know what it’s all about chapter and verse. We can recite it in our sleep, literally! You have no idea of the nights I’d wake up thinking about this and whether we’d pull it off or not, but we have.
So I got to thinking (which is dangerous in itself :)) that maybe there may well be a question or two about this that you may have. Well, here’s an open invitation to fire away with any.
You won’t offend us, that’s hard enough anyway and I’d far rather that any issues were solved, not left, so fire away. If we can we’ll tell you, if we can’t answer we’ll tell you and if we don’t want to answer we’ll tell you that too. I can’t offer any more honesty than that.

OK I will kick this off if I may 😉
I see the machine doesn’t have a Programme LED or LCD but a number of ‘Option Buttons’ which (I think?) are LED’s ? Therefore if a programme error occurs, do these lights indicate some form of error coding?

A few things, can you do bearings in situ ,i.e in the cabinet not like Zan/Hpt wma series ,How easy are the brushes to change (assuming it’s a brush motor),How big is the porthole ,how good is the filter ( will it catch buttons ,coins etc but let fluff go through )How aesthetically pleasing is it (anyone remember the Servis Zerowatt 😯 )
can you do some kind of online brochure for us to download PDF so we can overprint our own details on to it ?
I think that will do for now

KeymasterRe: Questions
On Martin’s question, well we don’t know as we couldn’t get the thing to fault despite our best efforts and we don’t have the full tech on the timer etc. just yet. We hope to get that and all the info out there well before launch.
There are indication LED’s, yes.
Bearings can’t be changed in-situ Lawrence, we tried to get that but it just wasn’t happening. However, on the plus side, the whole front comes off (a-la Hotpoint) so the whole lot is very easily removed. In saying that the bearings are pretty chunky and I wouldn’t expect that to be a major problem. The tank design is very “Zanussi Nexus” with pinned suspension.
Brushes can actually be done from the front, dead easy as is removing the motor from only the rear access panel.
Pump is at the front and is a coin trap type affair, not an actual filter with a grate. So I’d be saying that it should catch the major bits and bobs but allow fluff through as you suggest.
It looks pretty nice, certainly not a pile of poo like the Zerowatts of old. Design is a personal thing though. 😉
Downloadable brochure should not be an issue at all although we will be working on some pre-printed stuff as well and, from me, a barage of information as usual. 😉

The boss (and me to tell the truth) are still very concerned about the colour. I suppose you can’t change the colour now, but can you say anything to reassure us?

KeymasterRe: Questions
Van stock?
1) a pcb…2) heater…3) door lock…4) door seal…5) drain pump…6) carbons…7) dual water valve…
Most of you will already carry the Drain pump and water valve.
You can use your own stock and then order the replacement from us, as for supplying you with van stock, answer most likely. In the scheme of things we have lots to do before that. However 1st time fix is paramount.
As Kwatt says we specified chunky bearings and got them. We’ll have to wait and see how they perform. However they will be available as a kit rather than rear half changing.

I did, but we listened and altered our opinion based on the majority of others.
Different ! Get used to it.

ModeratorRe: Questions
I have a suggestion regards the silver white thing, while i think its best to concentrate on white (we were selling 9 white Asko’s a month which dropped to 1 every 2 months when they concentrated on Stainless steel only, yes the price hike didnt help either but most customers were turned off by the stainless finish). My suggestion is a chrome/silver effect door rim. After all it has served Miele well over the years and the old Philco heavy duty machine used to stand out amongst the crowd with one, so much so we used to ofer a chrome door on a standard Philco as an upgrade and did very well out of it.
