ParticipantDo you think that Partscenter are direct competition to US?
Having just looked at their new special offer sheet they could be!!!!!!Special price should be to us the Trade and not to the General Public.
Check out the “special offers” whilst not logged in & you will see my point!!

probably foe, they need every sale they can make and dont appear to care who they sell too be it trade or public.
Interestingly though if you try and search for the parts on the offer sheet using the model numbers they give it comes back with no records found so unless a person has the sheet with the part number on it they wont be able to see the item (maybe) and the only way they can have the offer sheet is by having an account (maybe)

I agree the system is not user friendly even to us!
But if a customer does go into a store i know they can operate the system. My issue is that the inflated retail price which was being shown has vanished on these items. Knowing that these parts did have the inflated prices before!!!
Had a customer in the past go to Partscenter to get a cooker element and then coming in to us with the part no: and price quoted. Fortunatley we were cheaper but this will not be the case now on some items.

Thats true but remember there is not such thing as a suggested retail price, what a person wishs to sell a product/item for is up to them, so my argument would be well thats how much i sell it for 🙂

Customer: How much are these brushes?
Me: £13.99
Customer: What, they’re only £9.95 down the road
Me: Why don’t you buy them for him then
Customer: He doesn’t have any.
Me: Blimey he’s expensive then
Customer: How do you work that out?
Me: Mine are only £4.55 when I’m out of stockIn my defence, it had been a very bad day

Spookily enough I think you will find that as long as you know the part number and then type that into the “Keywords” box these days, it will be recognised and come up with a picture, price and Parts Center catalogue number. A big improvement on just one month back when I last tried to find a common enough stock line that wasn’t there unless I knew the catalogue number, which I didn’t at the time!
I wonder when they will send out to account holders this much awaited PARTS CATALOGUE anyway :con:
And yes…the supply of spares to the public at their local depots is a worry for trade customers, for whom they don’t give a t*** anyway ❗
Finally, to correlate the trading policy of Wolseley UK Ltd and their selling to trade or public, it is simply that to them, there is no difference at all except the trading discount for account holders. Which is fair enough for spare parts BUT when they can sell FINISHED GOODS to the public (i.e Dyson Vacs) over the counter at their depots, then there may be trouble ahead?

Hmmm, off the top of my head I just entered 6224745 and got a retail price of £9.95 :eeek:
You can continue to place an order without logging in using a credit card, total price inc VAT and delivery – £18.15 👿

ParticipantRe: Partscenter Friend or Foe??????
what it comes down to it what i think is how many people are going to think of going to plumbcentre to buy washing machines parts and those that do are going to be a small minority from my own experince of using my local plumbcentre they dont know their left hand from their right hand but then im sure they arent all the same, its all about your locality.
bottom line is though we cant do diddly about it, telling partscentre we aint gonna buy from them wont work as by all accounts (me included) alot dont now anyway. It will more than likely end in them pulling the appliance spares aspect or selling it off.

Gentlemen,
Including you Paul, how many times must I keep saying , we do not advertise to the public, you will only find us on google if you spell it right er not re and the only people to get these supoer savers are you the trade accounts from washvac not plumbers not the partscentres branches so if anyone finds out then YOU will habve to have told them. No the branches ARE NOT carrying stock because we are trying our hardest not to upset YOU our trade customers. To help if YOU want we will put lines into the branches that YOU want if you speak to your rep, otherwise there is no plans as of yet to when branches will be stocking parts. As for selling us off, there is no such thing now as Washvac, it is Partscenter so they cannot sell it off. I told you all about a meeting I had at the end of October and lots of improvements were noted, but being a large company (£12 BILLION in sales last year) it takes a little time to change. And before one of you say, yes I now this has been going on for a while, but I promise you now, and there are a fgew of you out there that know me I do not feed you rubbish, but behind the scenes people are working flat out to give it back to YOU our customers. The new catalogue will be ready for December. I would not stay with a company that feed the customers tat (ask my last company I left!!). The new year should see a good return to a better company for YOU all to use.

OK Guys!
Cool this thread please and give Washvac_ Wayne and his colleagues at Parts Center a chance to sort things out for us. Clearly from this you realise THEY are listening to our problems and concerns, so lets just back-off and see what they make of it OK?
Carry on Washvac_wayne…please! 😀
