My responces to the questions were readily accepted.
Oh is this like a mini cartel, unless your in it you cant have any info? Isnt that sort of what this OFT report is all about? This throws up all sorts of questions and debates.Re: WTA OFT Degs report
Dont understand what you want, all i asked was if i could see the report that was sent to the OFT, didnt realise it was top secret, i suppose this is why the OFT our rummaging around.
I suppose what your saying is that if your not a member of the WTA cartel you wont get any help or info from it? Is this what the WTA is really about and i thought you didnt like this sort of thing.Remember all i asked was to see what was sent. 🙁

Just so there’s no misunderstanding in what you’re saying as, a cartel as defined by the OFT and the 1998 Competitions Act is a group of businesses acting in collusion for commercial gain.
The WTA is not doing that.
And, in any event did you choose to ignore the line, “I’m not saying it wont’ happen, that’s up to the members”?
You seem to do that a lot DrDill, just ignore the bits you don’t like and pick up on the ones that meet your needs to further whatever agenda it is that you have by denigrating the WTA at any opportunity. Or, so it seems.

You know what Ken, just forget it, you seem to jump on everything i say and churn it up, all i asked was a simple thing.
i do read all the posts, i read you said it might happen etc, but i not interested in waiting for a “might happen” i wanted to read it now thats all.Just going to hand myself in to the police for my crimes.
This in MY OPINION reflects badly on the WTA.

Oh and if i was against the WTA, why did i take the time(and cost) to come to the last meeting and reply to Aidrian regarding the OFT report????
You have no idea about me at all, so please dont question my motives on a Forum, its not nice.
This has just turned into a crap thread for no reason, i just asked for a simple thing.

Now I can see you will argue your case/point here as ever you do but to be honest you have lost it as far as many here on UKW are concerned.
Can I plead with you in this instant just to BACK OFF, let the guys at WTA do their stirling work in getting this thing sorted. After all you will no doubt be an eventual beneficiary toward all this in the fullness of time.
It’s a WTA thing, you are not a WTA member. And neither am I as it so happens (if that’s of any interest to you?) but I like most congratulate the endless amount of trouble, effort and expense the WTA guys are going through right now on our behalf.
Open debate is as always welcomed and your comments are duly noted. In this instant it’s time you back off and shut it, do us all a favour…OK?

What the f##k are you piping up for Martin, read my posts above, i just asked for a simple thing, i did not have ago at the WTA, i am interested in this OFT report, thats all! You are just jumping on the attack DR Dill bandwagon and as for the rest of you comment, have a word with yourself.
If its the case that i am offending everyone then cancel my membership of Whitegoods uk, i dont really care either way.

Its not Top secret – its freely available to WTA members The OFT was “rummaging” about to improve the choice for the consumer ,It approached the WTA as a body that has a role within the DEG sector as do ,Retra, DASA, Amdea & the Manufacturers/whitegoods importers.

The WTA like any Trade Association is there to improve the working conditions within its trade for its members ,if working with the OFT does that then great ,However it was the trade association that Liased with the OFT not UKW,so the report is compiled by the WTA for the OFT using various means of data gathering including the UKW Forums,Written requests to various interested parties,plus other means ,and is available therefore in the first instance to its members, once the OFT compile there Data and publish then its available more widely
