KeymasterI’ve been thinking, which is dangerous at best….
The public forums what’s the thoughts on changing it to….
Format as is but adding….
Public Refrigeration
Public Laundry
Public Dishwashing
Public Cooking
Public Other Appliances
So we can delegate and monitor better, dunno, what do you guys think?

ParticipantPublic Diplomats……… :rotl:
It’s going to make the forum front page very long unless we split the existing forums into the new ones. That’ll be a job for someone…… 😯
Overall, it would make a lot more sense – the public do seem to post anywhere almost at random.

KeymasterThat was the idea P, to get it more specific which should I would hope help people find things more easily and save answering the same questions over and over.

Best “Rule of Thumb” to adopt by far is KIS(Keep It Simple)
Nothing wrong with: Public Help, Public Parts etc etc. Splitting them further into sub-categories will only add to the confusion.

They’ll be sending in their dirty washing if we’re not careful under that heading :rotfl:

Noooooo !! Not adding, changing yes, a good idea, if there’s even more there it will be get worse and more diverse IMO.
If we were to change them who’s going to move all the existing one’s ? As P says, one hell of a task involved 😯
Agenda topic for Saturday 26th that one maybe ?

KeymasterWell, actually…
Plan B was to remove Public Help, Site Support and Tips & Tricks as they are little used and there’s not too much to move bar the help one. So in effect we add one forum but get it a lot more specific and easier for the punters to navigate.
To be honest I’d give up on the site support one as well as that’s also little used.

KeymasterOkay, started.
Let’s do them one at a time and clear them as we can.
Go to “moderate this forum” then tick the ones you want to move, select the “move” button and you’ll get a drop down of where they can be moved to. Untick the “Leave Shadow” box as that would leave crap we don’t want.
I’ll do more as I see them but this should make things a lor clearer for the punters.

With apologies for my earlier post on the idea, Plan B does look good, really very neat and easy for the punters to understand and hopefully post correctly. 😀
Whats happened to your Avatar Kevin…is that “Plan C?”

It’s essentially done now, all that remains is to trawl the general public forum and move the duplicates and any posts to their new home 😀

You can move multiple posts all at once Martin.
Go the very bottom and select “moderate this forum” this link:http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … =modcp&f=5
you can then check as many of the posts you want to move all at the same time to the same forum.
On that note, there’s no moderators installed on the new fourms I just noticed 😯
