The Dixons Group, a British company selling white goods and consumer electronic appliances, announced that it is about to enter Poland and set up a chain of supermarkets under the Electro World brand.
“Dixons will be a powerful competitor to the Metro, Media Markt, and Saturn networks,” said Dariusz Prz dka, distributor of Yamaha appliances, adding that Dixons will probably create a network of large space markets.
Dixons has reportedly already started putting together its management staff for its new network. The company owns 1,400 stores in 13 European countries and boasts an annual turnover of GBP 6.5 billion (approx. U.S. $12.1 billion). (Warsaw Business Journal)
