Electrolux AB’s talks stalled with German trade union IG Metall over compensation for workers of the Swedish group’s AEG factory in Nuremburg that is to be closed down, according to Werner Neugebauer, head of the Bavarian division of trade union IG Metall.
Neugebauer said he will recommend tomorrow that the talks be declared collapsed.
He told German media that Electrolux said it is only willing to offer employees severance packages if they agree to abstain from public protests until the end of this month.
