Re: Any feedback on ISE10 models yet?

There is no option of a 10 year warranty other than the odd promotion by Miele, it’s certainly not available on the Maytag range. So far as I am aware ISE is the only brand that offers that on all machines within a range in the UK (or anywhere).

There’s two fundamental reasons that we build in the warranties as we do over and above the fact it’s just easier for people, the first is that we cut out the hassle of having you harassed in store to buy one. The second is that it becomes far more cost effective from the insurers point of view so the price comes down to the customer. So, less hassle for people and a whole lot cheaper and easier.

It’s easier for us and the agents to manage as well.

With the Swedes you can specify features and looks but they will not compromise on quality at all. You get the best bits available and that’s it.

So if Asko make the maytag new models of washer why not get a maytag as they are the same really?

    Price is similar also.

Re: Any feedback on ISE10 models yet?

We bought an ISE10 a couple of months ago now. So far we’re very pleased with it and even though it cost substatially more than we thought we’d be spending we’re both happy we’ve made the right decision.
Ease of use is great, looks good, much quieter than the last machine we had and much less vibration.
The only drawback it has in my opinion is the gap between the drum and the body; it is just about the right size for a small sock to fall down. It has only happened once so far and there doesn’t appear to be any other way to access the space (you can’t get into the space via the filter door). I managed to fish the sock out using some chopsticks but it does seem to be a slight design flaw. Could this gap be filled with some kind of neoprene skirt?
It’s a very minor flaw though and I wouldn’t want anyone to dismiss this machine because of it, we’re still more than happy with it.

No in a word, but a useful tip and especially for young families with babies and tots that wash small socks, hankies, bibs & booties even…….Just lay a tea towel across the front of the gap whilst loading and unloading….all will then ‘mind the gap’ ….as the phrase goes. 😉

    RE: Spin Speeds.

Given kwatt’s article on spin speeds – why did you feel the need to go as high as 1600 on the ISE washing machines?

A little bit of the same marketing hype? 😉

    Nope, not at all.

Two fundamental reasons for that being the way that it is…

      1. It is the only way to achieve an AAA rating as you need greater than 1500rpm to achieve an A rating for spin
      2. It was the lowest spin speed possible using the inverter and induction motor that reduces noise and is brushless

While I can perhaps understand the cynicism, there is actually very good reason for the 1600rpm spin speed. 😉

My ‘cynicism’ was a little tongue in cheek. I have just ordered an ISE10 …

    😀
