ParticipantHi, I have a Beko CDA648FS/1 fridge freezer, and the fridge is freezing all our food/drink, even with the thermostat on ‘Min’.
So far, I have replaced the PCB board on the back of the unit, as well as the thermistor unit in the fridge.
The freezer appears to be running ‘too high’ and I noticed the drain hole at the bottom was completely frozen over. I defrosted it, and the whole back unit of the freezer.
I have replaced the electronic sensor in the freezer (which plugs into a socket board), but it still seems to be very cold, and I suspect this temperature is what is causing the fridge to freeze.
The last thing I think I can fix myself, would be to replace the defrost drain, and the defrost heater on the main unit itself, but unsure if it would make any difference.
Can anyone help/give advice?
Thanks
Tom

Apologies, but I forgot to mention; the ice forms an almost perfect rectangle in the top part of the back wall of the fridge; not sure if this is of any significance or not. 😕
Any help and advice would be very gratefully received.

It would sound as if the machine is running continuously which would strongly suggest a thermistor or thermostat problem. It would be unlikely to be anything else.
The control module is a possibility of course but I would always advise the others first as the cause.
There is nothing much else that can cause a fridge freezer to run constantly and to over-freeze.

Usually the sensor foamed in to the FRIDGE evaporator. Not replaceable.

Usually means digging out insulation at the rear. Approx top left corner below PCB approx 10 cms from the side.

Hi
I too have the same problem,a rectangle of frost/ice is forming in the top of the fridge (about half way up to the top). The fridge is also freezing liquids and products. The compresor is running constantly which is probably why the fridge is so cold. HAs anyone managed to fix this problem successfully? If so please can you share what the problem was and how you fixed it?
Thanks,

The fridge sensor is faulty but it is foamed in and not replaceable without damaging the insulation.

If I turn the fridge off and back on the fan runs for a few seconds then goes off, It stays off then for a while but when it switches back on it continues to run continually, until I switch off again and restart the process. Its a though when it turns on it sticks on?? hence the freezing fridge problem. Any ideas apart from fridge sensor- would that cause this or would it run continuously as soon as turned on?

So i have found out that I need to replace the evaporator sensor on my Beko CDA648FS/1 Grey fridge freezer. The Fridge is freezing up on the back wall forming a perfect rectangle of ice/frost on the top half of the fridge back wall. I have located the evaporator sensor in the back wall but cutting away the insulation (10 inches acrogg – centre of the top and 10 inches down). Beko have said that the replacement part is 4394720185 but I am unsure how to fit it, please anyone who has successfully replaced this advise (Darrenw45?)

just replaced my fridge sensor on Beko CDA648 F/F. Not a hard job- cut insulation away a bit at a time, sensor is 50mm + deep so there is a fair bit to cut out. sensor sits in a tube on back wall. mine was 220mm down from top and 200mm from left side. i poked another hole to PCB board and soldered connections back on. finally I put a carefully sized piece of kingspan insulation in the neat rectangular hole I cut in back. Hole was 60mm deep 100mm wide.
all is now fine
hope this helps

Just fixed mine following an excellent step by step video jskelton555 provided via email (thanks John!!). Ordered the part number Peter Winstanley quotes above from ukwhitegoods which cost ~£9 and arrived in a couple of days. All working well now.
Thanks to all again you have saved me a few hundred quid. However given the problems I’ve had with other Beko products I will be avoiding this quality brand in future.
