hi, has anyone tested the resistance of a faulty or good sensor, my fridge has this same problem, just want to be sure it is the sensor before I go order and cut it out.
measuring the resistance of the sensor inside the fridge after it has been on for a while, I get about 20k ohm if I stick a hair drying into the fridge to warm it up the resisance does decrease, so I am unsure whether it is the sensor or maybe the control board or something else?
thanks

It is not good to cut the insulation like mentioned here. If there is a faulty sensor the appliance will default to timed running of the compressor. Can’t see the product working properly if you cut the insulation as there will always be a spot where it will suck in air or a spot where it will be slightly warmer & will cause problems with frost build up etc.

If the sensor was meant to be changed, surely Beko would have produced a guide and instructions of how to fit?
Hoover did with their foamed in sensor.October 20, 2014 at 12:18 pm #409761lee8

The sensor is available as a spare maybe they assumed engineers did not need to be instructed as it’s a solution already done on other makes and therefore not to complicated. As for air leaks not an issue as you cut through the rear insulation, the inner plastic wall is not touched. When internal fridge drain tubes become iced up the rear insulation is cut out to allow an external pipe to attach to the drip channel pipe changing it to an external drain . Never had issues after when done correctly.

I replaced mine along with quite a few others on here, used kingspan to replace cut insulation and its been fine ever since. nothing to lose by trying it.

It’s what us old school engineers do, we find solutions to problems and then cure them.

Hi I am looking for some help as my BEKO fridge freezer CDA648FS/1 fridge compartment is freezing up. I have read that several people have successfully replaced a sensor by cutting into the rear of the unit. Could someone provide any photos or further advice as to what this sensor looks like and the work required to replace the sensor.
Any help much appreciated.

Hi. I have a BEKO CDA556FW with what appears to be the same problem. I would be very grateful if either of you could let me have the step by step video.

Does anyone have the pictures for this repair? I’ve the same problem, the new sensor has just arrived, and while I’m sure I can find the correct spot, the pictures would be hand.
Thanks
Dave

Clearly this problem will live a long while. I would love to see your video of replacing the sensor – how might we do this?

I didn’t receive the video or pictures, but fixed mine by using instructions in earlier posts on this thread. I only took one picture(https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=6 … hoto{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}2cjpg).
You can clearly see the sensor below and to the right of the control board; I cut away more insulation than needed, using a stanley knife. It’s about 2 – 3 inches deep. The existing sensor is held within a tube, but secured with a clip that forms the end of the tube. You can just bend this up and the sensor wiggles out of the tube.
To replace it, I cut the wire, stripped the wires back and joined the new sensor cables, soldering them together and insulating them before replacing the sensor. There wasn’t enough cable on the replacement to wire it back to the control board. I then replaced the insulation with a section of similar insulation I had (selotex).
The fridge compartment took overnight to come back down to temperature, but seems to be fine since.

I am thinking of attempting this, as a basic diy’er it doesn’t look beyond me by any means, but the wife is concerned about cutting bits out the fridge, and soldering new parts…. the whole electrical fires and stuff, especially as its on 24/7.
looking for advice on if its really as easy as it sounds, and how best to re-insulate the seniors once replaced.
she’s thinking of calling out an engineer to do it, but he will only “bodge” the same as me, its obviously not a precise science as its just keep cutting away till you get to sensor…oh what to do, £9 and diy vs £400 for something new…. but the peace of mind its all safe

done lots of these now, easy repair, two wires to join, go for it,I would not attempt it if I thought it was a danger!

Hi, I’m having the same problem. Is there any chance of getting hold of the pics or video showing how to fix it?
