Of the two, the Beko as at least the parts are cheap as well. :rolls:
I’d avoid the Hotpoint as it’s an Indesit in disguise.
I wouldn’t have thought you’d have been able to buy a gas cooker at that price TBH. I tested a couple a while back that were cheap and couldn’t get them to cook evenly, soggy pizza wasn’t pretty.
But, you’re limited if you can only have a 50cm wide cooker although Id go for an electric cooker or dual fuel over a gas one when the budget is tight.

I am stuck with a 50cm gap and can’t go electric without laying cable from other side of house 😯 plus I hate electric cookers. I have heard of some cookers that dont get as hot as they should, we had one of those cheep Mofit thigs a few years back and that was C~#p. Our current cooker is a Parkinson Cowan. very good but very tatty. Any sugestions.
We have and have had a lot of Beko products and found them very good but after having a bad cooker I dont want to end up with one again.

Whilst there is nothing to beat the instant controlability of gas hobs, there is nothing at all wrong with electric ovens.
A decent electric fan oven will cook at least as well as any other.

Sorry never liked them, I think fan ovens dry out the food. And as I said I cant fit one as there is no supply in the kitchen.

I do all the cooking and I can assure you there is nothing dry about my food. 🙂
You will have to come round for dinner sometime. 😀
I do understand the restraints you have to deal with though.
Don is the man in the know as regards current appliances, hopefully he may be able to give you some good advice in the morning.

Didnt realise Beko own so many brands.
Leisure, Flavel, Blomberg and now Grundig and there just the ones I have heard of.
What about
New world, Zanussi, Stoves, Cannon & Belling. Any good?

Fan ovens are WAY more efficient than convection which are, IMO, more efficient than gas ovens.
The trouble is, there’s fan ovens and, there’s fan ovens.
Good ones have decent design that allow the air to flow properly in the cavity that gives more energy efficiency, faster cooking times and far better and more even cooking results. But, that said, all ovens have their own traits, it’s just whether you can live with them or not and that very much depends on what and how you cook.
Most people that have a fan oven don’t use it correctly sadly. You need to “learn” how it works. Normally I’ll tell people to try cooking at recipe temperature -10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and time -10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} then check the food, usually that’s about right and for a lot of fan ovens you don’t need much, if any, pre-heating. If you don’t know that then yes, you’ll get dried up or burnt food.
I do cook, a lot and I wouldn’t go back to a gas oven if you paid me to. Rubbish results on every one I’ve tried, even an old Tricity static would walk all over any gas oven I’ve tried in recent years for performance. There are good gas ovens but they cost an arm and a leg and, TBH IMO, aren’t worth the money.
I had a cheap Servis gas one I was forced (literally) to use for a few weeks not so long ago and it was the worst cooker I’d ever come across. Poorly designed pan stands that didn’t hold pots well as well as an oven that would either incinerate or undercook, there was no in between. I was really, really happy to see that go, I even refused to sell it on or sell another, it was that bad.
Recently I had a customer on about a Gorenje cheapo gas cooker who said the same about that too. Another “bargain” at £250. He rejected it in favour of an electric replacement.
I don’t know these two that you’ve picked out but, on the strength of what I know about cookers, I’d not be expecting much from either.
If you look at the professional cooking arena it’s almost all electric fanned ovens they use, there’s good reason for that. Lower costs, better results so it’s a no-brainer.
For hobs, if you cook, there’s two options IMO, gas or induction. Gas is cheap, induction is expensive and the jury’s out on which is better. Again though, induction is finding its way more and more into the professional cooking arena due to lower costs. But, give your budget Madrat, you can forget about induction cooking.
All just my opinion of course which you are absolutely free to ignore if you wish. You just won’t see me with a gas oven. 😉

I supose its what your used to, we have a gas cooker in the house and a gas cooker in the caravan so dont want to change as we are both used to gas.

We currently have a Leisure Sterling 50 gas cooker. MrsP was adamant that an eye-level grill was what she wanted, so as the hot fat could squirt straight over my head…. Big mistake.
The oven has never, ever, run at temperature. It has had four thermostats to date, which has included the fitter saying “It’ll make no difference, they’re all like this”.
This is a BEKO-made cooker and my Mrs hates it.
