    Hi.

We’ve had this dishwasher for exactly five years now and its suddenly packed up heating the water or drying. I’ve contacted repairers who dont seem to want to know as they say I might as well buy a new one. Could you please give the chances of this being a faulty heater( which is expensive) as against a circuit board problem and what will be the approximate cost of getting it fixed assuming I an find someone to do it

    Thanks.

    Pms,

It is likely the circuit board is at fault. In many cases however it can be successfully repaired therefore no spare part required and labour only. So if you were in my service area and such a repair applied, then your looking at £50 tops 🙂

One quick question though first: If you set your machine to ‘reset’ will it indicate “0” (Zero) pump for 60secs then switch off? (See your user booklet if you don’t know how to reset the programmer)

Re: Bosch 6312 Dishwasher: No Heat

Thanks for that Martin. The answer to your question is yes because we did just that when we tried it yesteday and it was obvious that the heater wasn’t working. Is that a bad sign?

    Peter,

    No, a good sign

It means the chip within the programme module hasn’t been zapped by this failure and the board can have a ‘soldered link repair job’ done with more than a 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} success rate. It also means the heater is OK too I reckon 🙂

Pop in your details on repairs@ to see if we have a local engineer covering your area 💡

Thanks again Martin. I tried the repais@ but no-one in our area (OL2)
so will have to try a few more repairers, possibly bosch service centre.

They will not do the cheap fix I was talking about, so forget them on that! Best try a local company and tell them about our conclusions OK?

    You could try these Peter:

They cover the OL postcode area.

Thanks once again . I’ll give them a try. Incidentally , tried a bosch service and they wanted £59 + vat for the first half hour! A complete joke.

    Best wishes

Re: Bosch 6312 Dishwasher: No Heat

    Hi

Further to my posts on this I have had someone round who tested it and said it definitely was NOT the heater that was faulty and he left saying that was as far as he could go and that the circuit board would have to be replaced. Is it likely to be worth going any further with this or am I better off just buying a new dishwasher. Most repairers including this one dont seem to have much of a clue and certainly dont seem to want to test the board to see if it can be repaired. Is there any other particular part that is likely to be the culprit, I had a look on the Bosch spares site and could only see a control module that seemed to be relevant. Any further ifo would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Pete,
As we suspected, the heater is fine – the fault is almost certainly a burnt out joint on the computer board at the heater relay. If you know how to use a soldering iron, you can sort this out – check back through the forum and there is an explanation of what is involved.

    Pull the plug first……..

Re: Bosch 6312 Dishwasher: No Heat

    Hi again

    Thanks for your last reply.
I have checked through all the bosch threads as suggested but cant find anything on repairing the circuit board which I quite happy to have a go at considering there is nothing to lose. One entry from a moderator says its not a DIY repair. Have you any more info or a clue as to where to find it in the postings. I’ve just joined the site as a member so I will be able to receive info by email if that is more convenient.

    Thanks

That would be me I expect Peter 8)

However if you are the least bit competant at electrical repairs and the use of a soldering iron then it can be done. It requires the removal and close inspection of the Module Circuit Board, the problem will be all too apparent to anyone as the burnt terminals and PCB track are clearly visable.

Before you undertake such a mission you will need first to test if your machines programme will ‘reset’ successfully or not 😕 (see your instruction book on how to reset a programme). Now if it does NOT reset then that tells you that the Module Circuit Board is beyond redemption and will need replacing, so don’t even bother trying at that point. 😥

:zap: DO MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE MACHINE FIRST :plug:

    Thanks a lot Martin

Do I get at the Module Circuit board through the back of the door or is it somewhere else ie under the washer?

It’s in the control panel, directly behind the buttons. Be very careful of the edge of the inner door when you split it, you can shave with it!

It’s £59.50 INC VAT. We do not resolder this heater relay back up as it’s seen as a temporary repair :duck:
