    Put it this way, I wouldn’t bet on it, but it appeared to me as being the full LCD display model. Further scrutiny of the rather poor photo and I’m thinking you may well be right. 😉

    It is rather a big hole, certainly big enough for the full LCD display, but I guess flames rise!

    What kind of board is it affecting? What’s the part number of the board so I can cross reference against all Bosch dishwasher appliances? It seems that it is not just model specific as it looks like across the board, unless I am mistaken, please correct me.

    Dilemma.
    SGS53C02GB/08
    No heat and dry joint(burnt) on PCB.
    Not subject to recall but similar to problems on the recall units. The original part 493082 has been superceded by 426436.
    Customer is a little wary so I’m not minded to resolder like we used to but is the new board likely to have been beefed up or shall I sell her a Smeg?

    I cannot give a definitive answer to that Rob. But I assume because of the part number change the PCB may be either modified in some way or made by another manufacturer. So perhaps better to replace the board altogether than getting out the soldering iron?

    My thoughts too. She has doubts though having read about the fires. I’ll give her the options and see what she says. I think they are well off so may go to the Smeg.
