Thats good to know Martin. Lets hope they’ve got their own back up in the way of service requirements set up. If they do hit any unexpected problems customers will expect a quick response.

One things for sure, no doubt they’ll be subject to the usual UKW slagging off in the months to come. And a mad scramble to secure the service rights is already well under way.

Motor on top of the drum is a good idea, easier access, no water ingress damage, wonder why no one else has tried that in the past.;) 8)

The drums are upside down on the production line, so it looks like they have a pretty normal layout for mounting the motor, counterbalance weights, drum inlet, etc. One tub half screw is visible just above the block supporting the drum the manager is posing against.
Does anyone recognise any of the components as coming from another manufacturer’s parts bins? I don’t do enough tub jobs myself to notice any obvious similarities.

Really good to see they’re going with bolted tubs,I might just buy a machine to give it a field test as our old AEG is getting rusty 🙁
If it can stand wifey’s door slamming daily abuse it can’t be bad.

All credit to them, but I wonder how many individual parts are British made? Pump, motor, suspension, heater, controls Et.c. Et.c.

Probably about the same number of UK made parts as any UK made machine of the last fifty years. 😉
I well remember a motoring article many years ago. They showed a picture of a Ford Granada, a Vauxhall Senator and a Volvo 245 and asked the question, “which is the British car” . Turned out that the Volvo had more UK made parts than the other two put together. 8)

So buying in crates of Turkish parts and sticking them together in the UK makes them British. Let’s hope they go the same way as other newbies who think they can do better in the appliance industry.

B*llocks, building machines with parts sourced outside the country goes on worldwide, and has done for fifty years or more in every branch of manufacturing. If they are employing people in this country to assemble them then more power to their elbow.
