Yes, that’s the one Jerry.
And, yes, if wired incorrectly it wouldn’t work 😉

My AEG B2190-1 has just started to pack up – after 10 to 15mins control dials getting mad hot and it cuts out. Will not restart until it cools down.
However two screws later the top is off and sure enough there is a little charred unit with four spade connectors – the offending thermal cutout unit I presume.
It would also appear that the link dave pointed to, a £24 thermal cutout is the one for me.
I love the internet. I have just saved a stack of cash and my wife thinks that I am a great deal more talented than I actually am.

Hi there guys,
I have the same problem (i.e oven heats up but cuts out after 15 minutes) with the same oven:
Electrolux
944 182 598
EOB5630XI had a BG Gas homecare agreement, and the engineer came round and had a look. He said it was a cooling fan that was at fault. Unfortunately they’ve been unable to get the correct part ordered. Each time the engineer comes round he can’t seem to fix the problem. Pretty useless.
Can you guys advise me what it might be?
Cheers.

That I would think, the same as all the above 😉

Forgot to reply back – that indeed did the trick. Thanks!
The BG sub contractor failed to fix this after coming out three times.
With sites like this life is so much easier!

How about a Tricity Bendix BD920B, PNC 944171013, S/No NCJ33700026. Will the Thermal Cut Out discussed here also fit that oven?

😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀Hi i,m just a tad confused hopefully someone can educate me 😆
Is the thermal cut out also controlling the cooling fan? As stated above once the thermal cut out was changed the panel facia stopped getting hot 😕

I had the same problem and a local electrician replaced the thermal cut out as above, but it still cuts out. He checked everything and could not figure out what is wrong.
He went away to have a think about it and said he’d found that it could be something to do with the timer??? He couldn’t get a reasonable price for a replacement timer (approx £170 was the best price he could find!). I asked him if he could just bypass the timer and remove it, but the law won’t let him.
Any other thoughts?
Don’t want to pay for the replacement timer – may as well get a new oven.

Thanks to this great site I’ve found I’m not the only perosn with Electrolux oven problems!
Ours was cutting out so I replaced the temperature control (or whatever the thing behind the unit behind the temperature dial is called) and it seemed to cure the problem.
However, a few months down the line it’s started to cut out again. My wife pointed out the blackened bit on the Oven Cooling Fan Control, which I may well replace, but I’m thinking the problem is with the timer. If I switch the oven off at the mains, switch on again and reset the clock it all comes back on.
Has anyone else found this to be an easily fixable problem. I may take a punt on the Oven Cooling control for £20 before I buckle an get a new oven.
Thanks people.

If it’s blackened, it’s knackered.

ParticipantJust forgot to say HANDYTIP when checking to see if it’s the cooling fan, put your hand just away from face of the oven at the top of the door and bottom of control panel and you can feel if the fan is rotating and working. As you will feel cool air initially or hot air as the oven is warming up.
Hope it works for you!!

ParticipantHi Dave, I’m hoping you can help as having just had the oven pack in just after the festive season I’m not sure my wallet can take a further hammering from a replacement oven!
We have an Elctrolux EOB53001 prod no: 949712545 serial: 70829851 which is displaying the same symptoms as the problems from the thread above… heating up then cutting out 5-10 mins later.
I’ve seen the advice you’ve given and wonder if the same stands true of my problem and whether the same AEG part would solve my little issue!!??
Many thanks in advance for your help.stu

Sorry, to clarify… I suspect it is the the same issue as the thermal cut out valve… Not the cooling fan, I may be wrong?!
