Hi: The fan element should be at the back of the oven where the fan is. As for your original problem, I did tell you to check the Element with a multimeter first to see if it was open circuit. Would suggest that this is done before ordering a new 1,, throwing parts at an appliance without checking first is a waste of your hard earned.

Yep, quite true. I just thought someone may know for sure that if there’s no heat it is most likely to be the element and in no way connected to that fan cut out sensor thingymajig 🙂

As it happens the new element arrived yesterday but was too small, the supplier listed my oven model with it by mistake (It needed to be 50mm larger) and I’ve since took the old one off and tested it with a multimeter and can confirm it has no continuity. I didn’t know they could be tested like that until you said so thanks, a good tip for the future.

Yes mate all elements can be tested for continuity with a Multimeter, the trick is not to look for a specific resistance but to make sure that you have continuity across the connecting terminals. If you have a Multimeter where you can set the resistance range manually, set to something like the 200R range. You should also check from each terminal to the Earth tag & this should show a very high or preferably open circuit on the highest resistance range of a Multimeter, Appliance engineers normally carry out this test with a Megger at 500volts.
