Yeah, the plan was always to get here, we just had to go a roundabout way to do it due to database and so on as we had to lift the main content side, then the forums in order to allow the various upgrades to be carried out and, taking the site offline for days wasn’t a viable option.
But I am pleased with it, much more clean, fresh and modern than it was in terms of looks.
From an admin perspective, there’s way, way more control than ever we had before and over the next few days, some bits and bobs to add that should hopefully make moderation a lot easier as well as tools to stop spammers before they even post.
Part of the issue was that we would be forced to move from phpBB3 to whatever was next and the new version of that, whilst easier to migrate to, wouldn’t have given the control and performance bumps that we got with VB nor any of the funky stuff like social media integrations and so on.

Cannot see any mod tools on a post or a thread, so cannot edit, move or delete. Is this just a case of permissions or am I looking at things the wrong way?

I can see editing tools along the top edge of the first post on each page.
Forgot to add, one thing I always liked about VB is that you can read the last post in your email notification, that way you can decide if you want to answer right away or later.

Not in this thread as it is the Mods thread. Check general forum threads. 😉 There a a small edit button even in here with far less options.
At a guess, something to do with permissions in the moderation of each but figuring that out is a whole other thing as it’s vast!

I know that typos and spelling will be well down the to do list but a couple have caught my eye. Firstly on all the pages at the top it says ‘We have now upgrades’, as the s & d are side by side on the keyboard I can see how that one slipped in. The other one is rather amusing, on the main Forum home page if you go to the International forum description it says we have limited SPEARS. 🙂
Just noticed that a thread I replied to a few minutes ago was not added to my subscriptions. I had to go into my settings from the very tiny button at the very top right of the page and go to notifications and switch on auto subscribe.;)
Just waiting to see what goes on in The War Room and The Boardroom. Do miss the moderator logs though,
