a little update.
if i hold the start button whilst turning the dial to select a program type it will partially fill with water then stop, i did this 3 or 4 times and manage to get it full, i then did it again when full and the drum spinned, not just a normal spin but as if it was doing a rinse (full speed), does this point to anything?

Yes, user abuse. Do please select the programme you want before pressing the start button otherwise you’ll screw up the programmes software most likely. 😯

The Start LED and the one next to it flash in sequence that represents an error code. The 3 remaining should not flash however and if they do I can only think that the Coreboard (Main PCB) has failed. 🙁

Fair enough, so you’re back to square one on this meaning there’s a strong possibility the fault lies with the PCB or the connections from the NTC to the PCB.
Also it’s worth pointing out that it is important to use a 500volt insulation tester to ensure no spurious earth leakage is causing the PCB to give erroneous messages. We in the trade use them as a matter of course but chances are you do not have such a facility to hand. If you have, then well for you as it may be invaluable. A multimeter is useless for such detective work but at least you can still test those PCB connections with one! 🙂
All the best!

now you mention earth leakage, i should have mentioned this (memory’s not the greatest 😥 ), for about a month maybe 2 the fuse/relay in our electricity mains thingy has tripped when the washers been on, it hasn’t done it often 2-3 times maybe in 2 months, we’re not sure if its the washer but it has always been on when its happened, but so has the fridge etc.

Test the insulation of the components especially the heater and motor. 😉
