Re: ISE10 1607w in the house!

I have one of the older ISE10 models and found that you have to get the arrangement of the machine right to minimise noise.

The simple fact of the matter is that the ISE10 uses more long lasting parts compared with other models (metal vs plastic) obviously metal will transmit sound more readily than plastic so the machine can end up sounding louder than your old / another washing machine.

Is this such an issue – do you have to have silent machines ???

I did have some issue with the right hand arm of the drop down door panel though – in that if the door panel was pushed into the machine then it used to make a hell of racket on spin mode (side of the chassis was rattling against the arm of the drop down door when pushed in.

A bit of a djustment with the feet to make sure it was level both back to front and side to side seems to have rectified the issue.

Perhaps but, so far as we can gather, at no point were we asked, “Can I just put an old Zanussi dryer on top that isn’t fixed in any way, bar a couple of bits of rubber and it will be okay?” So, without actually telling us what you want to do, we can’t give you a definitive answer. If you asked, “Can I stack a tumble dryer on top?” the answer is obviously yes, you can. The fact that it’s an ISE one only that’s recommended we’d assume was what you meant unless you specifically said otherwise.

The point I’m making and, a bit annoyed about is that somehow you appear to be making out that this is ISE’s fault which it clearly is not.

You also come on and effectively “slag off” the machine when there’s nothing wrong with the machine.

A call back with arrangements you will get as soon as it all gets arranged but, I’m sorry, at this time of the year this isn’t the highest of priorities. People have been waiting since last week, in some cases for orders placed before that date and they will take precedence I’m afraid.

You may also have read a little something in the press about packages and deliveries being backed up due to weather from last week. It affects us as well and doesn’t make getting uplifts arranged the easiest of tasks. Which gives us problems with call volumes as people chase deliveries, deliveries I might add that in some cases we cannot offer a date on as we can’t get them from haulage companies.

It will most certainly be at some point next week that we get a solution.

To expect an answer as urgently as you have requested in the current circumstances is unreasonable and continually calling up and asking what’s happening is not helpful.

    Hi Shady,

    Thanks for the tip.

As it was installed by an appointed ISE installer a month ago and re-checked by an ISE engineer this week I have to assume it’s correct. I’d be reluctant to fiddle and really, it shouldn’t be me having to sort it surely? As I sit here typing, I’m listening to a spin (1200) and the banging’s back – drum against case I think. It’s washing a single summer duvet…

    Regards,

    Dave

    Hi K.

Could you let me know what your position is within ISE?

    Hi K.,

Thanks. I think it’s best to deal with this offline. The office has my email address and two contact numbers.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Hi David,

You decided to deal with this publicly when you first posted, I’m quite happy to do that as I said. And, now that this is the case I don’t want to be seen to be sorting it “behind closed doors” or there was anything improper as that would simply not be the case nor, given the public nature of your complaint, proper in my opinion.

As soon as we can arrange a collection it will be done. And, as soon as we have the required information from hauliers etc. we can let you know but, until we have all the information any conversation seems pretty pointless given that you simply want the machine collected.

What I or anyone else can’t tell you right now is when that will be done as we need a window to get it carried out.

And, so far as I can see, that’s where we are.

DavidW07 wrote:The Miele was spun with a load though not plumbed and I’m sure the comparison was not scientific.

I can confirm Miele machines are almost silent on spin. However it may not always be the case as surroundings can have a big effect.

My Mum has just bought a Miele Little Giant PW6065 Plus (she needed a serious work horse) and when washing all you can hear is the clothes moving in the water and when spinning the most noise comes from the pump, that is really saying something. However it is sat in her kitchen under a worktop on a carpet tiled floor so I would have thought that would make it quieter than say if it was on ceramic tiles in the middle of a room. It is quieter than my 17 year old Bosch, and trust me that is quiet!

How much did you say the Miele cost Oliver, over £3000 wasn’t it. 😉

    3 grand washer

I see they have had to release a safety warning due to the possibilty of the user being scalded using one certain programme. :rolls:

DavidW07 wrote:I guess the biggest issue remains that, stacked or unstacked, it’s very loud and can’t be used at night when our electricity is less than half price.

We mostly use ours at night to benefit from cheaper electricity. To avoid being disturbed, we use the timer to start both the washer and dryer well into the wee hours. I have woken up once of twice and struggled to identify the unfamiliar noise, but I wouldn’t have said either are particularly loud and I’m certain that they don’t wake us up.

We have done the same for many years. This is why this particular machine is the problem. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Morning Jim 😀

Yep over £3000, but as she washes so much a domestic will not cope, plus the manufactureres will void her warranty as they class it as commercial use.
You should not have to buy a commercial for domestic use, but machines are not built as well as they used to be either, bar Asko and Miele.

She got a 12 month P and L gaurantee with it Quickwash.

    Oliver.
