Just thought I would re open this thread as it has been a bit dormant lately:
Bosch washer WFB2005gb15 timer knob not engaging (ie you cannot select a programme as it just goes around loosly) the problem is just the inner timer knob which has 2 plastic hooks that had broken off, the inner knob drops off as soon as you remove the facia but is it available as a part? No chance you have to have the whole console panel, £73 retail! The customer is resorting to long nose pliers and will buy another brand next time, and I dont blame him.August 11, 2004 at 10:10 pm #106415Martin

Easy solution to this problem Mark 😉
Simply drill a small hole in the back of the knob and insert a self tap screw to lock the two together!
The timer knob locked in this way will last forever, besides it is impossible to force it anti-clockwise anyway!!! 😆

ParticipantThat’s the second self tapper post today Martin! Are you obsessed with the little blighters?!?
He’s right mind you – tell most customers its a £70 panel or a screw up the jacksi and they’ll take the latter every time.
I think I could have phrased that better……..

Hold up Rob, quite the contrary, the ‘self-tapper trick’ actually makes work by being able to complete a job that your potential customer would otherwise say no and go out and buy a new machine 😆
£73 for a new Fascia Panel plus Labour and VAT is a no! no! at around £130 in total. We ‘saintly service engineers’ do the job and keep another customer 😆 😆
My advice, nip to B&Q and get yourself a box of assorted self-tappers mate! 😉
