Our industry and some of the practices in it are being highlighted in a BBC One consumer program later this month, details are:

Show: Your Money Their Tricks
Date: Wednesday 24th July at 8pmAs far as I am aware this is not to do with recalls or anything like that but about the aftersales industry for whitegoods.

Oh dear (yawn) we’ll all be branded cowboys again no doubt. Last week it was motor mechanics at Kwikfit……….. I’ll be in the USA so won’t bother to set the recorder. :rolls:

I looked on here because I saw it yesterday when it first came up, and was interested in the subject. Now it has got silly. So-much-so, there is no point in reading any more in this thread, as will not apply, and therefore not be of subject or interest matter.
Maybe there should be a subject header…. THINGS THAT WERE POSTED IN A TOTALLY IRRELEVANT MANNER AND DOES NOT APPLY TO THE HEADER. Then perhaps could be transferred into said bin.
Usual perpetrator who seems guilty most times.

I would guess it might be about the hardsell and underhand practices the the big boys are up to with flogging D & G policys and all the cleaning stuff which some punters dont even know they have bought, also the local phone n/o’s they are using which diverts you straight to them

So we can look forward to fault codes disappearing and plug in software diagnosis requiring a one of payment and monthly usage fee plus the cost of hardware.

I don’t think there’s a need for cynicism here.
The fact is that a lot of the things we’ve all been whining about for years got aired on a top rated channel during prime time.
I think that’s a result personally. Or, at least a step in the right direction at the very least.
