ParticipantIgnis AKL335/01. Electric Oven not working..no sound of fan..funny plastic smell from oven prior to it stop working. Grill working ok. I’m suspecting oven fan motor gone? Is it easy to change? Access from rear, I think?
Do I need to change oven fan element too? I installed a new one in 2014.
Thanks!

if its only the fan motor the element would still get hot
could be the selector switch burnt out behind the knob

Just bought a replacement oven selector switch, swapped it over and still nothing is happening.
There is current to the oven as the grill selector light comes on.
Any other suggestions before, i decide to ditch the oven please.
Thanks!

unfortunately I do not have circuit details for this but most simple ovens have
1 overheat stat somewhere in case of temp too high
2 poss clock if it has one as oven wont start unless clock is set and switches can burn out
3 selector switch but you have changed that
after that is could be a very long shot that both the fan motor and the element had blown. not had that yet but there is always a first time

The clock is just an old dial one with a buzzer/ringer. It doesn’t turn oven off like a digital timer.
The selector switch controls the element, fan and internal oven light. None of these are operational. I put a new bulb in just incase. Also the external oven operation light (like fairy light) is not working.
It’s as if this part of the oven is not getting any power.
The grill is ok and external grill operation light is working. Already spent £45 on the switch don’t know whether to buy a new oven?!

Hi Dave. Tried reducing photos to 256 kiB but not able to get that low resolution without distorting colours. Any other way I can get photos uploaded?

The resolution of those photos are shockingly bad. But from what I’ve read so far it seems the fault must lie with the TOC and in the fuzzy picture it is likely to be located close to the oven lamp holder I would think?

Sorry couldn’t upload decent resolution…was up early hours trying to!! Thanks for your advice Martin. I did notice that there was burnt, brown marks near the rear side of the oven lamp holder…but thought a lamp holder will not cause these symptoms!! Now to find this part….the oven selector switch was a right PIA as the part was obsolete.
(I’ll see if I could replace the photos!!)
