Thanks. Yes I checked for continuity with a digimeter…the reading remained at 1. I would like to “bridge it” to confirm but was not sure how to do it…thought I might do some damage!!
Is it a case of touching the 2 spade paddles together (obviously holding insulated wires), whilst the power is switched on and see if oven/fan starts to work?
If it is the fuse would there be an underlying reason why it blew?

NO !!!!
link wires with power off. the spades link quite easily.
make sure they wont touch anything and there is no children round likely to get hurt
turn on and see if it heats. if yes switch off and order part
could have gone through an overheat ( stat too hot or cooling fan not working) or just old age

Hallelujah! Joined spades together…fan running oven heating up!!!
I will order the part and hopefully won’t blow out quickly again…otherwise, back to the drawing board.
I’m ecstatic…Mrs not happy…she wanted a self cleaning oven!!!
Thank you Dave & Martin…Diamond Geezers!!

Back again!!!! Used oven for the 1st time since changing TOC..Tried cooking some cookies for the kids. Semi cooked at the recommended time.
However on turning off oven the inner fan enclosed by the heating element appears to rattle and clunk (metallic sound as if hitting against something) before coming to a halt.
When switched on no sound heard. Will take off the inner covers and inspect when free. Any ideas on what could be the cause.
Thanks again!

bend the fan a bit will be ok
if it does not seem hot enough get an oven thermometer and check temp
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/un1470- … hermometer
if its a bit low then you can either replace the stat or turn it up a bit more

The fan playing up now explains why the TOC popped. :rolls:

Opened up the casing and the inner fan blade literally dropped of on touching it. The holding nut had worked it’s way loose. Gave it a good clean and reassembled…all good now and temperature ok too!!
So because this fan was not dissapating the heat as intended, the heat remained concentrated in one area, overheating the oven and thus blowing the TOC….am I correct??
Thanks again guys!

Hi,
I’ve read this post as I’ve encountered a similar problem with our Electrolux EOD948 double oven.
Top Oven/Grill is working fine but nothing happening in the main oven.
The element in the main oven burnt out and I’ve replaced that expecting that would resolve the issue but I was wrong.
Could you tell me if there is a TOC on my oven as I can’t see any reference to one in the manual I have.
Many thanks in advance.

Yes all ovens have TOCโs. Donโt know exactly where yours is located but usually closely attached to the main oven cavity at the back or above. It is a small component with one wire in and one out. Both wires removed and the TOC should be a closed circuit using a multimeter to test for continuity.

Thank You Martin for you reply.
Guess I’ll have to remove the oven from it’s assembly and hunt down the elusive TOC.
Assuming that this proves to be the issue, would you know the product code to source a replacement?
Thanks Trevor

Almost, you forgot the serial number (or in E/lux speak the full PNC number) ๐
Come back if you need any parts once youโve isolated the power and taken the panels off and reached a diagnosis. ๐

I’m afraid that will be because I can not read the serial number.
My best I can read is the product number, which is incomplete: 3**97*092
