I went back to check this job today; it was fine. The Qualtex heater seal does have a flange, so I don’t see a problem with fitting them in future.

I went to a fairly new WF Hotpoint washing machine with a serious leak. The element had popped out. The reason being the rubber on the element was very small like on a pattern part. No one had been at the machine before so in the factory a low quality element was fitted.

So the moral of this tale is to only fit heating elements with flanged seals, regardless of whether they’re genuine or pattern 😯 .

Qualtex and Connect, if you’re reading this, take note.
