KeymasterFor those of you that were at the meeting you’ll get this and why this forum has popped up. I’ll explain a bit more after I get some sleep as I’ve been a tad busy the past week or ten.
For those that want to download rapport it is available here:
http://www.rapportsoftware.co.uk/
I had less than 24 hours to get that site up and I have not had time yet to write the content or much of anything so, if you haven’t a clue what this is, probably best to wait until you do. 😉

Hi Ken,
I hope that you have fully recovered from the Coventry weekend. Well done, by the way, it was a brilliantly executed conference, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.Rapport: I have spent most of today on this and have a few observations that may interest you. Firstly, Google Chrome wont download the files. It just gets slower and slower before reporting “interrupted” and crashing. ( I tried this a number of times and the download gets bigger and bigger each time before crashing, I got up to 132MB).
Secondly, now that I have downloaded the files (via ‘Firefox’) and extracted them first to my ‘H’ Drive and then when that didn’t work to my ‘C’ Drive; on opening “localhost” in ‘Firefox’, I get the stock system page ok but it reports “Error 404”
‘The system is unable to find the requested action “install”‘.I have un-installed and re-installed a number of times, but can’t get beyond this point.
Xampp for windows status reports:- XAMPP Status

Server Side Includes (SSI) ACTIVATED

Should I hang up my tools and retire? 😕

KeymasterRe: rapport
Sorry guys, with the server outage yesterday life’s been a bit mental from Saturday night until today.
Sudeep and I are sat working on the rapport site now, as we speak, to make it easier and then onto printing installation instructions with screenshots.
Quite simply, we hadn’t time to do it with the conference etc. 🙁
After that, I hope to do a video on how to do it as well.
It isn’t always obvious, especially if you’re not a bit IT literate I will admit but we are trying to get it made easier for you.
Now I’m off to sort the downloads bit out. 😕

Guys,
Can you take screenshots of the errors etc. and send them to Sudeep on stalati@ukwhitegoods.co.uk so he can see what’s going on.
Then he’ll come back here and reply for all in case someone else has the same issue.

sudeep has a list of issues from me already. If apache wont run then u can either change the port # in the hpptd.conf to something like 8500 or there is a reg entry for win7 to stop the kernel from using port 80, also if u have iis running it gets a bit more complicated.

Basic instructions here:

Yes Jeremy but most users won’t be running a local Apache server and those that do should know what’s gonna happen. Things will break. 😉
However, point taken nonetheless.

If You are getting the error
“System unable to find requested action install”
just point your browser to
Point your browser to localhost/stock_system/ims/install or localhost/call_handling/chs/install
Also please do do not keep any special characters like ‘ or ” in company name or anything else while setupFebruary 28, 2012 at 12:08 am #369609bazza500

I’m getting the 404 error as well.
I’m going to leave it till the set-up instructions are fleshed out, then try again .Is the post code look-up already active?

KeymasterRe: rapport
Check that the Apache service is started as, if it’s not, you’d get a 404 error every time.
Postcode lookup should be available this week I hope, all things being well.

ParticipantRe: rapport
If in the XAMPP control panel it says “Apache started (port 80)” does it mean its running ?
It doesn’t specifically mention Apache in Task Manager.February 28, 2012 at 2:56 pm #369613jeremy
ParticipantRe: rapport
yes presser that means its started and running, it runs as a service if you click the services tab in task manager you should see it ‘apache 2.2’
