    Re: Repaircare…

Mark is back this week, I expect to be an ex Repaircare agent by Friday!

If he rings to say he’s coming down (As expected), I’ll be sure to say don’t turn up without my cheque 8)

Well that should raise some alarm bells. 😉

    If they get it.

That was what that thread needed! Home fu**ing truths!

I think those JD’s you sank last night K, stoked the fire and the result was a glorious read! 🙂

    Re: Repaircare…

I thank you. I do try.

TBH it’s only any use if it actually makes the guys think and look at what they’re doing and, why they’re doing it.

But, I expect that they’ll all bump their gums as usual, a few will throw in the towel and all move onto the “the next big thing”. Probably not realising that, yet again, it’s most likely out the frying pan…

Unless they do stop, think and run the numbers.

Although most are quiet, these comments MUST be being taken seriously. I’d bet my next girl, that people are seriously thinking about what the hell is going on and if a small percentage of Indies look at these comments and stand their ground, or make provisions to not end up in my situation (Reliant on one WP)… Objective achieved!

    Well put my boy.

It has been said on this forum in the beginning when this was all coming into place, some of us were having reservations about Connect being too big a slice of any repairers operation, that there could be problems with them calling the tune and too many eggs in same basket etc.

At the worst (could be argued at the best 5 years ago) that account for me was running 22{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} with Connect work, equating to just over 2 engineers & 1 support staff.

Before all this kicked in, the figure on a year by year linear scale was dropping to 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}, 18{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and now 16{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the revenue stream and it is now rapidly getting smaller in part thanks to the rate drop.

I have already showed them my spread sheets and the comparison charts, and have told them that when I see below 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} than I can afford to, in my words, “play with you, and run it my way” This is now taking effect.

We now reject all calls where the model number, address or phone number is unclear. I also reject multi-fault calls as I advise that we cannot afford to make second visits.

We rearrange EVERY pre-booked, even if the appointment would have suited us.

We are refusing to do anything that relates to cosmetic, and if we make a call where the customer tells us she needs anything over and above the fault description, we refuse to order the part and point out the reported fault. When it comes back as one of their recalls, I request a cancellation.

We refuse ALL requests to carry out a service visit by special request, being out of their area, despite probably being in that patch for someone else.

At the end of last month I dropped 16 postcodes, and tomorrow (Mon 23rd) I shall drop another 5.

Well what a bazaar afternoon! Re-instatement into RC Forums, and a 4PM spur of the moment visit from Mark Reilly.

    Odd… Just odd!

    Re: Repaircare…

Interesting little post in the General Trade forum.

Ben Nevis Whoever he may be.

Quite well constructed, looks to me that he is a bit of a bean counter, and I wonder if he happens to be sat in an office and is in a position to see any parts increase on any particular contracts.

    Just an idle thought

I bit! I tried to ignore it, but I couldn’t! And have ‘Planted the seed’ again about other manufacters & Ins companies picking up the tab, IMO, the more suits that read that, the better as it’s true and might make people think!

Although I wouldn’t bet my next girl on that!

    Re: Repaircare…

As Ade will see, I’ve re-opened the debate on the Repaircare forum regards the Repaircare chargeable work. Not that I’m one to stir things up of course.

Two Agendas. 1 to see if it has improved. 2 To gee up Ade to remind everyone that there is an outstanding issue regards “penalties”. That one worked, well done Ade.

According to Stephanie Wheelbarrow, that was a Richard Lawson thing, and there are some in management that are trying to stop it. I mentioned it to D Parker tonight, he was unaware this was even happening. Maybe worth a phone call Ade.

Perhaps things are really stirring in the background? Not too sure though.

    Re: Repaircare…

I’ve posted a reply that to me is quite acurate! And I wont have Mark on the phone complaining about my ‘Abruptness’ over that reply!

BTW, he & Steph are coming to see me towards the end of next week, after another long telephone call yesterday, he said he needed to sit down with me over my 1st October deadline for rejecting DSG work as they don’t want us to part company!

Back to debits, kirk & agie have had debits too! Mine is still un-resolved, although they do now seem to be wanting info etc, but as I said to Steph, it’s toooooo f**king late to investigate, after the desicion to debit has been made and the money deducted!
