    Re: Repaircare…

Now confirmed from three independent sources, they have been given the bullet by Currys.

My bet would be that they’re staying quiet as they look to have picked up the Comet work so….

“We’ve lost Currys and it stops on Monday, sorry guys.

But, we’ve now got all the Comet work so it’s all good.”

    Or something like that.

Well. Finally happened! Letter received today DSG C/Plan & Whatever Hapens being done by Currys group with a new direct service operation as from May.

This came out 24th January & I told one or two when I was at the DASA meeting on the 26th.

Those that I gave the heads up to were having none of it!

    How naive can they be?

    Re: Repaircare…

Let’s face it though Alex, it was only a matter of time as the Currys work has always been a poisoned chalice.

TBH I just hope that those who rely on it are okay.

    Re: Repaircare…

Something is going on out there in Connect land, and I cannot put my finger on it.

Earlier today I had a phone call from an agent who received an invite to Connect house regards what looks like to be a new initiative, all sworn to secrecy and they could not divulge the nature of it? Wasn’t sent by e-mail, but hard copy with confidentiality written all over it.

Seems like there is one meeting tomorrow (9th May)and another in a couple of weeks. He told them he couldn’t make it, and asked what is it all about? They refused to say!

Now it gets more obscure. Being nosey, I make a phone call to another agent who is deemed to be one of their “good boys”. He knew nothing of this either, but wondered if was related to being picked as a “prime agent”? He went on to say he was invited to Connect house some weeks ago for this, but there was no secrecy in the agenda topic. So it sounds unlikely this “summon to arms” by some agents is related in any way?

Now I’m intrigued and I’m wondering what they are up to? Clearly I’ve upset them because I’ve not been invited to anything.

    Re: Repaircare…

Could be a firing but, it’s unlikely they’d go to the trouble of hosting someone to do that.

Could be that Dixons KnowHow (or not) is collapsing before it’s even begun and they’ve secured a stay of execution.

I do know that they were systematically getting shot of smaller agents at one stage although that may have ground to a halt after they got the bullet from Dixons.

I haven’t heard much of anything from that camp for a while though from anyone or, certainly nothing of any note.

The agent told me his letter said it was to discuss “An exciting new initiative, and due to sensitivity could not be discussed or divulged upon”

Possible, but all they have to do is keep it as is, and if it disappears then so be it. It was left open ended in any case. No need to call agents in to discuss.

Yes they are branding some agents as “Prime Agents” and this has come about due to the loss of the DSG Contract. Looks like I’m not part of that though, as I was not invited.

I’m not too bothered, but would be nice to know what is going on, I don’t like cloak & dagger stuff. Today, Tuesday, back from a Bank holiday weekend, and not one call. Normally I can expect 25 at least on a normal Monday, and more following a long weekend.

Perhaps your face no longer fits. Or, you weren’t compliant enough. Or, they just plain don’t like the fact you won’t put up with their sh1t. 😉

TBH we’ve seen it al before, I doubt there’s much of anything new in it, just a slightly different spin perhaps.

I have heard about the cloak and dagger stuff however but, as yet, nothing has shaken out of it so I have no idea what it’s all about. Rumour had it it was to do with the setting up of prime agents, which will make all the commoners feel really loved when it all goes sideways and they need help again.

Nice to see it out in the open as far as we are concerned, sadly most agents will unable to reply to to confirm or deny this if there are Non-Disclosure agreements.

    True.

Guessing that their clients might be interested though who will now, pretty much, all know by the close of play today I expect as I’d wager they know nothing as well. 😉

Heard this yesterday (probably old news to some of you ) Apparantly Tina has left ( Southern Contact), Andy farmer has now got all the agents, but they have set someone else on who Andy reports to ! Why install another level of management between Andy and Dave P. ???

    Re: Repaircare…

Tina had a terrible sickness record. She turned up for work last Tuesday (11th)after another bout of sickness & handed in her notice.

She has been replaced by someone who was already in the building. Paul Topham is the name, and he tells me there is another, a general assistant who works with all managers, he is called John.

    Re: Repaircare…

A little bird has told me that Dave Parker has been moved sideways into another role to be replaced by an ex-DAG guy.

From what I hear Dave asked to be made redundant and this was denied.

It appears that this is a demotion.

How accurate or true this is I don’t know. But if it is correct I’d expect it in the general forums soon enough.

Also, seems that the work has been dropping, several people have mentioned a noticeable drop off in volumes from RC. Perhaps this is an attempt to get more work from other places.

    Re: Repaircare…

Dave was supposed to come and see me yesterday, but rang and cancelled the night before, he told me he had been moved out of Repaircare and going back into sales on the Connect side. I understand he is not a happy bunny, shame really, looks like they have passed him over again! There seems to have been a big change in attitude by a lot of staff at Repaircare at the moment, I dont think taping everyones phone calls has helped that !!!

Hope the DAG guy isn’t going to pull all the DAG work into Repaircare !

    Re: Repaircare…

No idea what’s going on TBH.

I think that KnowHow has taken a lot off them from what I can gather and this is having an impact. From what I have been told the Currys work was the cash cow for RC and, without it, the business isn’t wonderful.

There were strong rumours last year that CDSL were trying to sell it and, no shock, there were no takers.

Which leaves them with two options, make it work or shut it down.

I would think that the former has proven the option that they wish to take, for now.

Quite where they would get the business from to replace what they’ve lost I really don’t know but, would it surprise me if they poached a load of work from DAG?

    Not even a little.
