Day at home today then 😯 , 9″ of the white stuff here. Can’t get to the side road let alone the main road.
Walking to the inlaws about a mile away to do some snow clearing :rolls:

best option is to keep a spare set of rims (cheaply available from scrappys/ebay) for the driven wheels, i.e front or rear unless a 4×4…
Not advisable on vehicles with ABS, it can effect the ABS system if you have different tyre types front & back.
Not only do the winter tyres help you to keep going in a straight line they also help you to turn corners and stop in a much shorter distance so its much safer to have one on each corner. 😉

Well I’ve jacked it for the day! Locked up like everyone else and walked home! Snow is coming down really heavy again, so much that all the ‘Track’ marks on the road that were there this morning, is now covered with a fresh towel of snow again. Got to be about a foot deep in my estate… The bottom half of my jeans have frozen because of walking through it 😯
I don’t have any faith in getting the vans out for a couple of days minimum 🙁

I had to go to the shops anyway so I did venture out but it was not easy. Nearly all the other vehicles I saw were tradesmens vans, most other people had the sense to stay at home 😆 It took me about 10 minutes to do about 200 yards up one hill then it was like a tobbogan run coming away from the job down the same hill. Parking was also a nightmare. It’s so deep now that it’s difficult to even get near the curb on the sideroads. You have to stop, blocking the road and dig enough snow to be able to pull off the middle section of road that’s still in use.

Unbooked all of today, looks like the same for Tomorrow, (Tuesday). Problem is knowing when to re-book them as this week is full, and no doubt some customers will be without cookers.
Managed to struggle in this morning, but had to close the office at 2 so we could get home.
Will endeavour to go in again tomorrow to face the next load of abuse.

I sold my 4×4 last year, big mistake, going to get another one in time for next winter as I can see this being a regular occurrence in the future 🙁

This has been a nightmare in the Borders for weeks now, I have lost so many days and had so many wasted journies being unable to get near outlying areas when I do manage to get out ;
Icing on the cake today , my diesel has frozen . 😯
I doubt that I am going to be able to recover from this , having had it very bad back in January and even beginning of April . -
