We picked up a working brown and beige one with the orange bit on it when we bought all the whitegoods from one of our passed on customers.
Shall i start the bidding at £35?

Can you identify this Hotpoint machine?
Martin will know so hopefully he will give one or two people a chance at it first. 😉

The picture was sent to me a short while ago by someone who saw one of my posts in the public forums. He restores old washers and seems to have quite a collection. 8)

Collecting washing machines? Now that is sad! :rolls: I had a Liberator machine that I used off and on until I broke it up 3 or 4 years ago but mine was the ordinary sort with wrap around cabinet. I still have the instruction book for it somewhere. Not very PC but quite entertaining with the ’70s fashion etc.

What was the story behind the 1826 ? something about a fire somewhere ?

Tis the 1826, the 1823 had no option buttons on the front and a fantastic spin speed of just 370rpm. The 1826 was not much better at around 650rpm. Can you imagine the earache we got as engineers from customers who had previously had a 1600 with an 1100rpm spin or the top loader that did 1050rpm.
The one major fire during my time was at the central stores in Lutterworth, a massive loss of spares that caused major problems.
We were told the Zanussi machines were introduced to fill a supply gap created by factory refurbishment at the time.
They also used several Zanussi made fridges and fridge/freezers.

You have to admire the amount of work that has gone into that. 8)
